About the time I hit menopause, I quit my job without knowing my purpose. I embarked on a self-discovery mission—a midlife crisis! I researched the best self-help books. I hired a life coach. I practiced positive affirmations. I got way out of my comfort zone until I found what felt most true to who I am and who I want to become. After three decades of writing stories for businesses and brands, it was time to write my own.

Catherine Palmer is testing the theory that “it’s never too late to be what you might have been.” In the midst of menopause and a midlife crisis, she moved to Vermont, hired a life coach, and quit her job to embark on a search for what makes her whole. Catherine holds an MFA in creative writing and has published her work in The Boston Globe, Huffington Post, American Literary Review, and other literary journals. She is a frequent contributor to AARP’s online magazine, The Ethel, and is writing a memoir about her midlife reinvention
